Samsung is set to unveil its next generation of foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9. While leaks about the standard versions have been rife, a new report has emerged that suggests the Enterprise versions of the two devices could receive up to 8 years of software support.
According to a source from Anthony's account posted on social network X, Samsung is said to be applying the longest software support policy ever for foldable phones. Specifically, the Enterprise versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 could receive 8 major Android OS updates along with regular security patches over 8 years.
If this information is accurate, this would be a new record in the foldable device industry, surpassing the 7-year software support that Samsung previously announced for the Galaxy S24 series. However, Samsung has yet to confirm any details regarding the Enterprise version of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.
For the standard version, both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are expected to come with Android 16 and One UI 8 out of the box. These two devices will likely be updated to Android 23 and receive security patches until 2032.
Although it is unclear when the Enterprise version will be officially introduced, if Samsung implements it as rumored, this will be a significant step forward in enhancing the long-term use value of foldable devices in the enterprise environment.
