Samsung is accelerating its software updates this month. Right after releasing One UI 7 for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, and S23 FE, the company continues to expand the release for the Galaxy S22 series. This is good news for Galaxy users as One UI 7 is being widely deployed to many other devices.

Accordingly, Samsung has started releasing One UI 7 for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in South Korea. These devices are receiving updates with software codename FYD9, about 4.4GB in size (may vary depending on region and model). In addition to upgrading to Android 15, the update also includes the April 2025 security patch, addressing more than 56 security vulnerabilities on Galaxy devices.

One UI 7 brings many valuable changes, notably a smoother system interface, smoother motion effects, and small changes in design to improve the daily user experience. Samsung also improved a series of system applications, such as Samsung Health, camera, and other features to suit the new trend.

In addition, One UI 7 also integrates AI features supported by Google Gemini. Although the Galaxy S22 series will not receive the full set of the latest Galaxy AI tools, the update still promises to improve performance and add many new utilities for users.

It is known that the Galaxy S22 series will continue to be supported by another major update, One UI 8, expected to be released later this year. This will be the last major operating system update for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra trio.
