Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S22 series globally. After a pre-release in South Korea earlier this week, the update is now available in the US and will soon expand to other countries in the coming days.

In the US, the locked Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra models are currently receiving the One UI 7 update. While it is only available on select carriers at first, Samsung is expected to roll it out to all remaining carriers, as well as the unlocked version, in the coming days.

The update carries the firmware version number FYDB, and the installation size is up to nearly 4.6GB for the Galaxy S22+, depending on the model and carrier. In addition to the improvements in One UI 7, it also comes with the April 2025 security patch, which fixes several security vulnerabilities.

This is an Android 15-based update for the Galaxy S22 series, which was expected to be released in late 2024 or early 2025. However, for some reason, Samsung delayed it until April this year to officially roll it out. As usual, users in Korea were the first to receive the update, followed by the US market.

One UI 7 brings a more modern, refined interface, smooth animations, deeper customization features, and a series of AI-based upgrades, along with many notable improvements to the camera and system performance.
