Samsung has just released a new software update for the Galaxy S21 FE, bringing the June 2025 security patch with 19 security fixes.
The Galaxy S21 FE has been receiving software updates in recent times. Last month, the device was updated to One UI 7.0 based on Android 15. Just a few days later, Samsung continued to roll out the May 2025 security patch. And now, less than 10 days later, a new update with the June security patch has been officially rolled out.
Currently, the update is being released for the Galaxy S21 FE version using the Exynos 2100 chip, with the model number SM-G990E. This is a popular variant in markets in Africa, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and North America. The new software version has the code G990EXXSFGYF1. Samsung is expected to expand the update to other variants and more regions in the near future.
To check and update the software, users can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If you do not see the update displayed, your device may not have been distributed by Samsung in this batch and need to wait a few more days.
Samsung is also currently testing One UI 8 based on Android 16. The Galaxy S21 FE is one of the devices eligible to receive this update. The Galaxy S25 series has already started experiencing the first beta. After completing the testing phase, the stable version will be released, first to newer high-end devices and then expanded to older and mid-range models like the Galaxy S21 FE.
