Samsung is speeding up the One UI 7 update for Galaxy devices as the One UI 8 beta rollout nears. After rolling out the update for its flagships, the company has now moved on to its mid-range and budget devices, with the Galaxy M55 and Galaxy M54 being the latest to get the One UI 7 update.

The Galaxy M55 is currently receiving the update in India, while the Galaxy M54 has already started rolling out in Indonesia. The update comes with firmware version M556BXXU4BYE7 for the M55 and M546BXXU8DYE3 for the M54. The installation package size ranges over 3GB, depending on the region and carrier, as this is a major update that brings a number of significant changes.

One UI 7 brings a refreshed interface with more modern app icons, a smoother navigation bar, and more subtle transition effects. In addition, many system applications such as Samsung Internet, Calendar and Camera have also been upgraded. In particular, the update also adds smarter experiences thanks to AI integration, including the Circle to Search feature, the Now Bar that displays information about ongoing activities on the lock screen and many other utilities.

If you are using a Galaxy M55 or M54, check the Software Update section in Settings. Samsung is said to be speeding up the completion of One UI 7 on a large scale to focus on developing One UI 8, the version based on Android 16. Most likely, the beta will start testing on the Galaxy S25 series this week.
