Samsung has just released the May 2025 security update for the Galaxy A56, which not only brings the latest security patches but also adds a notable AI feature: the Gemini quick launch shortcut.

The power key on the Galaxy A56 can now quickly launch Gemini

This feature, which was previously only available on the high-end Galaxy S25 series, has now been brought down to the mid-range segment. After the update, Galaxy A56 users can hold down the power key (side key) to quickly activate Gemini, Google's new AI assistant integrated in One UI 7. If you don't want to use Gemini, you can still customize it to switch to Bixby according to your preferences.

Not only that, the update also expands Gemini's cross-app capabilities, allowing the assistant to perform operations in default apps such as Calendar, Notes, Reminders, and Clock. For example, you can ask Gemini to save a summary of a YouTube video to Notes, or add a sports match schedule to Calendar with just one command.

The update, which is currently available with firmware version A566BXXU3AYDK, is rolling out shortly after the Galaxy S25 series in the US started receiving the May security patch. Galaxy A56 users can check and download it by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Make sure your phone has enough battery and a stable Wi-Fi connection before proceeding.

Meanwhile, some leaked sources also said that Samsung is preparing a larger update for June 2025, expected for the Galaxy S25 series with many significant changes. Details about this update have not been revealed yet, we will continue to update as soon as we have information.
