Samsung has officially rolled out the June 2025 security update, and the first device to receive it is the Galaxy A56. This premium mid-range phone unexpectedly surpassed the flagship lines to open the new update. However, the expansion to other devices and regions will take place in the near future.

Currently, the June security patch has started to be released for the Galaxy A56 in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. The update carries the software version A566BXS4AYE5 in the first two regions and A566EXXS4AYE5 in the Latin American market. Samsung has not added any new features in this update, which is completely understandable because the main goal is to improve system security.

Launched earlier this year, the Galaxy A56 comes pre-installed with One UI 7 and is on the list of devices that are supported for up to 6 major operating system upgrades. One UI 8 is expected to be released in the next few months. In the meantime, users will continue to receive regular security patches. Specifically, the June patch fixed more than 60 security vulnerabilities on the Android platform as well as components in One UI.

As usual, new security updates are distributed in stages. Therefore, Galaxy A56 users may need a few days or a few weeks to receive the update notification, depending on the market. To check and update manually, users can go to Settings, select Software update, and tap Download and install.

Currently, Samsung is testing One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 series through the public beta program. While it's unclear whether the Galaxy A56 will be included in the beta phase, it's likely to be one of the first mid-range models to receive the Android 16 update. The rollout could start in August or September, while the final version could be released as early as July, around the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.
