After completing the One UI 7 rollout for its flagships, Samsung has started rolling out the update to its mid-range devices, starting with the Galaxy A55. The premium mid-range smartphone launched in 2024 has now received the stable One UI 7 update in South Korea. More markets are expected to follow soon.

The Galaxy A55 is the only mid-range device to be included in the One UI 7 beta program. Over the past few weeks, Samsung has released three beta updates for South Korean and Indian users. South Korean users have now started receiving the official update, and Indian users are expected to be the next group, before One UI 7 continues to expand to other regions.

The stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy A55 in South Korea has the firmware version A556SKSU4BYD9. While the versions in other markets may differ, the update content and features will be similar. This is an update based on Android 15, bringing a series of improvements to the user interface, visual effects, new camera features, deeper personalization, and integrated artificial intelligence experiences.

Galaxy A55 users who participated in the beta program will receive a lightweight update, while those running One UI 6 will receive a large update, up to several GB.

This is the first major Android update of the four versions that the Galaxy A55 will support. While Samsung has applied a six-version Android update policy for the Galaxy A56, this policy does not apply to the A55 model. However, Galaxy A55 users can still expect to receive One UI 8 in the second half of this year.
