While many Galaxy S24 users are still waiting for the Android 15 update with One UI 7, Samsung has been quietly testing One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 series. SamMobile recently had an early experience with One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and they shared a few notable points about this update.

Honestly, the current One UI 8 doesn't bring many significant changes. If you were expecting a big step forward, you might be a bit disappointed. Some minor improvements include the Quick Share file sharing feature, adding a "Receive" tab, allowing the device to stay on display to receive data, which is much more convenient than before. The interface has also changed a bit, such as the menu in the Gallery app being refreshed with rounded icons, along with a few more background color options.

Samsung has also quietly fixed a small annoyance: previously,y when connecting the Galaxy Buds via Bluetooth, the system would automatically open the Galaxy Wearable app even though it wasn't necessary. On One UI 8, this has been removed, a small but very pleasant change.

However, the experience with the early build of One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 Ultra shows that there are still quite a few bugs. Most notably, the Now Bar feature does not work as expected, although it still works normally on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This is understandable because this is just an internal test version, not the official software.

Overall, One UI 8 seems to be a "light tweak" update rather than a complete overhaul. It is mainly the background changes from Android 16, while the interface and user experience are still quite familiar. However, Samsung may add more features before officially launching this update, expected around July or August at the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 duo.
